The Face of Jewelry
Sissy’s Log Cabin
Sissy Jones, Founder
Led by her entrepreneurial spirit, Sissy Jones launched her own business nearly 50 years ago in a log cabin that she rented for $50 a month. She incorporated her digs into her company’s name, and her company was born. She started by selling and appraising antiques, but soon switched her focus. Today, with 12,000 square feet of showroom, Sissy’s Log Cabin is synonymous with fine jewelry and prides itself on quality in its brilliant collections and second to none customer service and experience.
With the help of her husband, Murphy, son, Bill, and daughter, Ginger, Sissy grew her store into Arkansas’s largest independently owned jewelry store.
Bill Jones joined the family business in 1984 and was, at the time, the only jeweler at the original store in Pine Bluff. After attaining his graduate gemologist degree, he worked to diligently grow the brand more than 50-fold. Last year, he was named the company’s CEO. With locations in Pine Bluff, Little Rock, Jonesboro, and Memphis, Tenn., the retailer employs more than 100 associates and has master jewelers and guild gemologists on staff with more than 65 years of collective experience.
“Sissy’s is more than a retailer – it’s a one-stop-shop for jewelry design, craftsmanship, repair and selection,” Bill Jones said. “You might find the diamond ring of your dreams at Sissy’s Log Cabin – or you might choose to come in and design it yourself with the help of expert industry professionals that specialize not only in the newest trends, but also in precious antique pieces.”
Jones said the business’ success lies in its dedication to Sissy’s mantra, “When you’re here, everyone’s family.”
“It’s not just the tagline for our business, but the true theme of our customer relationships,” he said. “Family is the cornerstone of our business, and we treat everyone like family the moment they come through the door.”
While she’s passed day-to-day operations on to her son, Sissy remains on the company’s board of directors and serves customers at the Pine Bluff and Little Rock stores.
