See the Blessing in Change

A long time ago, I wrote a newspaper article about a journal a priest had discovered in a Morrilton church. The journal, written in Latin, had been kept by an early missionary in the Arkansas River Valley. One amusing entry the priest interpreted for me, freely translated, described Arkansas in summer as a “suburb of hell.”
