Mr. Adams loved to mow his front yard. At 85 years of age, my feisty next-door neighbor got up in the cool of the summer morning and suited up. He put on his black, leather wing-tip shoes, thin black socks, his 1940s Bogey fedora hat … and a powder blue bathrobe. He would then proceed to manicure the 30-square feet of lawn that was his front yard with the best push mower Sears ever sold. His wife passed away a few months earlier. The little lawn was all he had left. |

Recent turmoil in the stock market Has caused many people to wonder where on earth it is safe to save for kids’ college. Since children’s college accounts were hit just as hard as the parents’ 401k and other investments, finding the right college investment seems to be an impossible task. But don’t give up hope!

Reverse mortgages. By the very definition of the two words, it sounds like a great concept. Who wouldn’t want to reverse their mortgage? Sometimes they are referred to as “lifetime” mortgages, which don’t sound nearly as attractive. |
