A music festival that features around 30 different acts in three days, right in the heart of Little Rock: it’s Riverfest time again. Unfortunately, you might not be able to make it to every show, so here are our can’t-miss picks. Head to the Riverfest website for ticket prices and the full lineup.
1. Cage the Elephant
You remember this band from their 2008 single “Ain’t No Rest For the Wicked,” but almost ten years later, they’re still making great music. Hit up their show at 9:30 p.m. Friday at the Arkansas Federal Credit Union / Sweetwater Ampitheater Stage for serious alternative and indie rock.
Need more indie rock? Then you’ll want to show up a little earlier and catch Grouplove’s show at 7:30 p.m. Friday, also at the Arkansas Federal Credit Union Stage. You’ve definitely heard their hit single “Tongue Tied,” and the rest of their repertoire is just as catchy.
3. Jon Bellion
Jon Bellion explores hip hop, indie rock, R&B and indie pop with style. He may not have the same name recognition as some other acts on this list, but he’s worked with artists like Eminem and Zedd. He also toured with twenty one pilots in early 2017. He’ll be at the Arkansas Federal Credit Union / Sweetwater Ampitheater Stage at 6 p.m. Friday.
4. Wiz Khalifa
There’s nothing like a good headliner, and Wiz is exactly that. If you love rap, you love Wiz, and even if you’re not a rap fan, Khalifa’s work with groups like Fall Out Boy and Imagine Dragons proves that his appeal stretches across genres. See Khalifa Saturday at 9:30 p.m. at the Arkansas Federal Credit Union / Sweetwater Ampitheater Stage.
5. Justin Moore
For a totally different experience, head to Justin Moore’s show Saturday night. The country singer was born and raised in Arkansas, which you can tell from titles like “Small Town USA” and “Flyin’ Down A Back Road.” Listen to Moore Saturday at 9:30 p.m. at the Frio Light Stage at the Clinton Center.
