The Weekend Theater presents As Bees in Honey Drown. Directed by Kayla Esmond, this witty play is about a young writer who captures the attention of Alexa Vere de Vere, a black-clad woman of mystery who has made the work of celebrity her home. Maybe she’s a record producer, maybe she’s a film agent, what is clear is that she wants Evan to write the screenplay of her life story. Evan discovers a chain of people who have fallen under her spell and acted as her meal ticket. For Alexa has no money, no job, no life of her own – only the one she has created for herself. Showtimes this weekend are as follows: Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $16 for adults and $12 for students and seniors.

Experience a sophisticated evening at Motion on Main: Winter Wine Taste with Ballet Arkansas. There will be food and wine from Argentina, a live violin/cello duo with Geoffrey Robson and David Gerstein, live Argentine Tango and, of course, a Ballet Arkansas dance performance. Tickets are $50.
