Juneteenth Celebration of Freedom

Noon – 6 p.m.

Hosted by the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center, this annual commemoration of the end of slavery is an event rooted in history and focused on the future. Juneteenth is a time for reflection and forward thinking. This free block party style celebration has something for everyone — live music, children’s activities, food trucks and more.

“Big Bad BBQ Brawl” Watch Party at The Southern Gourmasian

6:30 PM

The Southern Gourmasian crew takes on famous Chef Shannon Ambrosio on The Cooking Channel. Justin, CC and Gwen will all be at SG to celebrate the victory over the Brooklyn Boy of BBQ! Tickets are $25 for the whole hog roast buffet. There will be vegetarian options. Beverages included in ticket price. This event is sponsored by Lagunitas. They will be giving out free swag during the event.

Tomato Festival at Bernice Garden

10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Celebrate summer’s bounty at Bernice Garden Farmers’ Market. Try local heirloom tomatoes and taste some new tomato recipes. Local music, local food and local friends.

Father’s Day Fishing at Wildwood Park for the Arts

12 p.m – 5 p.m.

Father’s Day is the one day of the year that Swan Lake is open for fishing! Bring fishing gear for some catch and release fun with the whole family. Not an angler? Enjoy lawn games or stroll along paved and woodland trails during this free event.

Take Dad Out to a Travelers Game

Dickey-Stephens Park, 2:10 p.m.

Nothing says baseball like having a catch with Dad. Head over the river and be one of the first 1,000 fans in the gate to get a free baseball. Then head down to the field with your glove and parent for a 45 minute catch on the field.
