The Studio Theatre presents Breakfast at Tiffany’s starting Thursday, Feb. 8. Based on Truman Capote’s classic novella, Breakfast at Tiffany’s tells the story of a young Southern-born writer, known to us only as Fred, who becomes infatuated with his Upper East Side neighbor: the beguiling, effervescent beauty Miss Holiday Golightly. Thursday through Saturday performances begin at 7 p.m. and Sunday matinee is at 2:30 p.m. The Studio Theatre is located at 320 W 7th St. in Little Rock. Tickets can be purchased here.

Saturday

Finally a dinner with dessert first! The 2018 Chocolate Fantasy Ball is this Saturday at 6 p.m. at the Statehouse Convention Center. The event is the largest and most important fundraiser for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Arkansas. The evening includes an elegant seated dinner, fabulous silent and live auctions and concludes with kicking up your heels to dance the night away to the sounds of White Chocolate. Tickets can be purchased through the Ronald McDonald website. Individual tickets start at $250.
Revel in the fun and pageantry of the annual SoMa Mardi Gras Parade and Festival 2018 on South Main Street in Little Rock this Saturday from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. The parade runs from 24th to 12th streets and will be replete with bands, floats, costumes and, of course, BEADS! For information on joining the parade as an entry, sponsor or volunteer please contact Hillis at soma@southsidemain.org. First prize for best entry is $500. Second place is $250 and runner up is $100. And this year there’s a special prize for best use of the color purple.

Saturday and Sunday

The Arkansas Symphony Orchestra’s presents “Music City Hit Makers” this Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. at Robinson Performance Hall, 426 West Markham Street in Little Rock. This unique show fuses the number one hits of Nashville Grammy Award-winning songwriters with the artistry of a live symphony orchestra. Three of Nashville’s elite songwriters will perform and share the stories behind some of the biggest hits they’ve penned for today’s most iconic stars. Tickets can purchased through the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra website.

Sunday

Hounds Lounge Pet Resort & Spa presents the 2nd Annual Barkus on Main. This free, family-friendly event features live music, a beer garden and hurricane station, gumbo, crawfish boil, plenty of beads and the Mardi Gras dog parade! Registration for one dog is $30. The first 200 dogs to arrive will receive a complimentary Bark Bar Wag Bag, and all dogs will be eligible for prizes. The party starts at noon and the parade starts at 2:30 p.m. The party is located at the 300 Block of Main Street and the parade starts at 7th and Main and heads north to 4th and Main.
