Northwest Arkansas earned a spot in Airbnb’s recently released list of top fall destinations. The company compiled the list in anticipation of another busy Labor Day, with hosts collectively earning more than $300 million over the long weekend in 2021. The company also noted trends heading into late fall and winter.
According to the most recent data, Bella Vista is ranked No. 2 in the combined listing of last-minute beach stays and college town getaways. The rankings are based on nights booked for the upcoming fall season, and only Ocean City, N.J. ranked higher. The NWA city beat out Oxford, Mississippi; Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and Lexington, Kentucky among destinations in or near college towns.
For Labor Day weekend specifically, Columbus, Raleigh and Tampa made up the top three destinations. Beach vacations remain popular throughout the year, but the company expects a slight shift in sentiments once the weather changes, with its National Parks, Countryside and Cabins categories making up some of the most booked through Dec.
Since 2007, Airbnb has grown to over 4 million hosts who have welcomed more than 1 billion guests around the world.
