The Arkansas Blood Institute is in dire need of blood donations at the current time. The COVID-19 pandemic has affected blood donations.
Make an appointment by going online or maybe finding a bloodmobile near you. You will receive the antibody screening for COVID while you are there; those results take a few weeks to get.The organization is practicing social distancing and using extreme caution for your safety.
If you have had the coronavirus, ABI is also needing your plasma with with this caveat: if you are a female who has been pregnant, you might have the HLA antibodies and are not able to donate plasma. You can still donate blood. You will be screened for the HLA antibodies and will be notified by U.S. Mail if you are eligible or ineligible to donate plasma. But men who have had COVID-19 are likely viable candidates for plasma donation.
