Coming off consecutive College World Series appearances, the Arkansas Razorbacks baseball team is ready to get back to work. On Tuesday, Oct. 22, the Razorbacks released its schedule for the 2020 season.
This season, the Hogs will have a 56-game regular season with 32 games played at home. This includes several special games, like a match-up with University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff at Dickey Stephens Park in North Little Rock and the Minute Maid Classic in Houston.
Coach Dave Van Horn, now his 18th season as head coach, is coming back this year after the program’s first ever back-to-back College World Series appearances. Although the season has not started yet, baseball prognosticators are already saying Arkansas has a strong shot at the College World Series this year.
Wayne Cavadi, on NCAA.com, ranked Arkansas as the seventh best baseball team in the United States. “The Razorbacks should have another quality group of reinforcements coming by way of incoming freshmen, but they will also have one of the scarier offenses in the SEC with all the explosiveness returning in the lineup,” he wrote.
BA Baseball America.com also ranked Arkansas as a top 10 team, putting them at #8.
D1 Baseball ranked Arkansas’ program higher than both Cavadi and Baseball America, though. This site placed the Hogs as the #6 baseball program for the 2020 season.
Here’s a look at the coming year’s season:
