Arkansas Urology’s Beard Bracket Challenge

Guys, put away your trimmers and razors for November. It’s No Shave November!

This year, Arkansas Urology is getting in on the fun, with its own Beard Bracket Challenge. Arkansas Urology is inviting men from across the state to take pictures of their beards and submit them online for a chance to win a big prize.

In an interview with 103.7 The Buzz, Arkansas Urology CEO E. Scot Davis said that the beard challenge is designed to increase awareness for men’s health in a unique way. “November is a great month for not shaving your beard. WE have No Shave November, and it’s a great to raise awareness around men’s health,” he said.

“If you have a beard or if you’re involved in doing No Shave November, go to our website, arkansasurology.com, and follow the links and submit a picture with your beard.”

The Beard Bracket Challenge starts Nov. 16, and submissions will be open through Thursday, Nov. 26 on Thanksgiving Day. After that, the voting starts!

As far as who can participate – Davis is welcoming all comers. Whether you already have a beard or you’re just growing it out for the month, Arkansas Urology is opening the playing field to as many individuals who can help bring awareness to men’s health in November.

“Those guys that are out there that already have beards [along with] the guys who are participating in No Shave November, they can participate, as well. We’re just really have a little bit of fun with this and raising awareness around men’s health. I think it’s a great opportunity for guys to show off their beards. Hey, if there are ladies out there that want to put on a fake beard, we’ll take those as entries as well,” Davis said.

Once the voting has started, people can log on to Facebook to vote for their favorite beard pictures. This voting period will be active through the morning of Dec. 1.

The winner of the Beard Bracket Challenge will be taking home some sweet prizes, in addition to shining a spotlight on the important work Arkansas Urology and Arkansas Urology Foundation do for men’s health in the state.

“The guy that’s got the best beard as voted by all the people who see all those pictures is going to win a flat-screen TV and bragging rights,” Davis said. “This all goes to support our foundation that provides the free 10-point screening that we do. It’s a great event, a great opportunity to have fun.”
