In a few short years, Ashley McBryde has become one of the biggest stars to hit country music. The 37-year-old Arkansas native has blazed through the music charts, releasing critically-acclaimed songs and albums and has received some of the industry’s top honors.
Now, she’s going to add another notch to her belt.
McBryde has been chosen to co-host the 2020 CMT Music Awards. She is one of three host and will be co-hosting the annual awards ceremony with Kane Brown and Modern Family star Sarah Hyland.
“I am beyond excited, and maybe a little nervous, to host an awards show for the very first time,” McBryde said in a statement to People magazine. “Luckily, it’s not all about me. It’s about celebrating badass music videos and the brilliant men and women that help us create them. I’ve loved watching and being part of this event in the past and I think the fans are really going to enjoy what we have planned for them. It’s going to be a blast!”
There will be a starry mix of presenters during the CMT Awards, including Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Jessica Chastain, Kelly Clarkson, Idina Menzel and more. The list of performers is similiarly star-studded. Luke Combs will pair up with Brooks & Dunn for the ceremony, and there will be performances from Dan + Shay, Maren Morris, Kelsea Ballerini, Halsey, Shania Twain and more.
The 2020 CMT Awards will be held Wednesday, Oct. 21 at 7 p.m. in Nashville.
