What is a gastroenterologist?
A gastroenterologist is a physician who specializes in the gastrointestinal tract and treats digestive conditions. Gastroenterologists see patients in the clinic setting and perform endoscopic procedures. All our gastroenterologists are board-certified and highly trained. Many of our gastroenterologists further specialize in particular areas, such as esophageal disorders, medical weight loss and liver diseases.
Why do I need to see a gastroenterologist?
If you have a family history of GI cancer, or if you suffer from digestive problems such as frequent abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhea, constipation, or heartburn, something is affecting your digestive system. A gastroenterologist specializes in these conditions and can often help you feel better! If you are 45 years old (or older) you should consider having a routine cancer screening procedure called a colonoscopy.
What is a colonoscopy?
A colonoscopy is a procedure that enables a gastroenterologist to directly image and examine your colon. This is effective in the diagnosis or evaluation of GI disorders that can cause discomfort or turn into cancer.
Is Premier Gastroenterology a new practice?
My partners and I opened Premier Gastroenterology approximately two years ago, but we have all been practicing in Little Rock for many years. Our practice is dedicated to providing the highest quality digestive disease care, imparted in a warm, personal and genuine manner to all patients who need our help. We treat each and every patient like a family member, and our patients love us for it!
Where is Premier Gastroenterology located?
We are located in our new Premier Medical Plaza, at 10915 N. Rodney Parham Road in Little Rock, in a former “big box” store that we converted into a state-of-the-art clinic and surgery center. This is a convenient location with easy access to I-430.
