Lisa Fischer is the former Lisa Gibson of Dermott, AR, She came to the Natural State after living in New Orleans and Newark, NJ, her birthplace. She picked up a southern accent while here and even gained a bit of southern charm. She attended college at the University of Arkansas where, while a journalism major, she finagled her way to work for the sports department during Hog games to emcee the pep rallies to become a yearbook editor of “The Razorback”. She moved to Little Rock after college and set her sights on tackling all media and started by working in television first, then radio and then writing for the statewide papers (yes, that includes the old Arkansas Gazette as well as the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.) She left her morning radio show on B98.5 after 12 years there and is now the editor-at-large for the state’s largest lifestyle publication AY Magazine.
She and her husband Kris have been married since 1988. They have three children, two of whom live in Dallas and one who is married and living in the 501 with their really cute grandchild. That makes her heart sing. And so does interacting with former listeners, viewers and now readers. Give her a holler if you’d like. firstname.lastname@example.org.
