Ballet Arkansas has announced that it will tour its production of Dracula, which is a multimedia infused production, to the Fayetteville Public Library Event Center from Oct. 14-15. The Dracula Tour will include two public performances and an educational lecture demonstration.

Dracula will be the organization’s inaugural production at the Fayetteville Public Library Event Center, which will begin a renewed presence in Northwest Arkansas.

“We could not be more excited to bring this production to Northwest Arkansas audiences,” Michael Fothergill, the executive and artistic director of Ballet Arkansas, said. “The production will be the first to feature the company’s eight new dancers, and includes a vibrant multimedia and fresh choreography. It is the perfect start to our 2022-2023 season.”

Dracula, which premiered in 2018,  was the first of three multimedia productions Ballet Arkansas created in partnership with Cranford Co.

“Dracula” is our unique adaptation of Bram Stoker’s legendary novel and integrates vibrant imagery and cinematography into stunning dance sequences,” says Catherine Fothergill, Ballet Arkansas’s Associate Artistic Director. “The program blends the traditional and modern, and brings the narrative as we know it to life in new and engaging ways.

Chris Cranford of Cranford Co., also mentioned his excitement to revisit the Halloween-themed production.

“In making use of enhanced technology and the company’s new dancers, there lies an exciting opportunity to take the production to new heights. It’s been fun to revisit the story that built the foundation for our partnership with Ballet Arkansas.”

Ballet Arkansas will present “Literature Comes to Life – Bram Stoker’s Dracula,” an interactive exploration of Bram Stoker’s legendary novel, pairing readings from the book with live dance performance and guided improvisation at 1:00 pm at the Library. Free to the public.

“Central to the mission of Ballet Arkansas is to ensure communities across the state have access to world class performances and education programs, and this most certainly includes the communities of Northwest Arkansas,” Fothergill said. “Dracula renews our commitment to having an annual presence in the area, and creates a touring model we hope to replicate in other parts of the state in future years. Every Arkansan deserves access to uplifting, enriching and engaging programming from Ballet Arkansas.”

In performing at the Fayetteville public Library Event Center, there will be two public performances on Oct. 14-15, both at 7 p.m. The showtime will run for one hour and 30 minutes. Tickets for these productions will start at $25 and can be bought online.

The troupe will also perform Dracula at UA-Pulaski Tech’s Center for Humanities and Arts in North Little Rock.

“CHARTS is one of our home theaters and an incredible venue for dance that offers patrons an opportunity to experience the finest performance technology out there,” Fothergill said. “The team at CHARTS is incredible to work with and goes above and beyond to ensure the success of Ballet Arkansas’ productions.”

UA-Pulaski Tech CHARTS performances will take place Thursday, Oct. 20; Friday, Oct. 21; and Saturday, Oct. 22 at 7:30 p.m.; and Saturday, Oct. 22 and Sunday, Oct. 23 at 2:30 p.m. Tickets start at $30 and can be bought online
