New hot air balloon festival Soar NWA is slated for August 24 at Fayetteville’s Drake Field. The inaugural event will feature a number of hot air balloons and aeronautic activities and serve as a fundraiser for Open Avenues.

Open Avenues is a regional organization dedicated to providing life and job skills trainings, as well as work opportunities, to people in Northwest Arkansas with disabilities.

The event will offer tethered balloon rides and a “balloon glow,” which will set the Drake Field venue a-glow when the sun goes down. The event will also feature vendors, live music, food trucks,

Tickets cost $5 for children and $10 for adults. Family packs, which include two adult tickets and four children tickets, cost $40. Tickets can be purchased here.
