Basecamp Coffee Company was first conceptualized when owner and founder Heather Bennett was still in high school.
“Desiring to be in the business world paired with my love of coffee, a coffee shop seemed natural,” Bennett says. “It was a long process that honestly got pushed to the back burner once I got married to my husband Cody and started having kids. This opportunity was dropped in our lap and we took over an already running coffee shop, and rebranded to Basecamp Coffee Company.”
Bennett emphasizes that Basecamp Coffee Company is a safe space for anyone who enters their doors.“Our desire is to be a home away from home for anyone who needs a safe and relaxing space. Our love of the outdoors has definitely inspired us and we want to fuel adventures of all kinds. Our passion is people, and coffee is how we connect with the world around us.”
Bennett further elaborates on what makes Basecamp Coffee Company special.
“Our place is unique because we are run by one couple with three kids under the age of 5 – that in and of itself is an adventure. We have the space to sit and study, or meet up with friends without feeling like you are in the way. Our baristas love our customers and love working here so our atmosphere has been our strongest attribute to date. We love great coffee, but we love great people more.”
At Basecamp Coffee Company, you can find a wide array of beverages, including different types of coffee and tea drinks, real fruit smoothies, hot chocolates, italian sodas, sparkling lemonade, nitro cold brew coffee and rotating beer and wine options.
Bennett notes that as it gets colder, some drinks have seen a rise in popularity.
“Our signature Milk and Honey is our most popular latte. It has two shots of our Bear Paw Espresso, our house made honey syrup, vanilla, ground cinnamon and milk of choice,” Bennett shares. Bennett notes that the staff favorite tends to be “anything with oat milk.”
She then takes a moment to explain popular snacks at Basecamp Coffee Company.
“Our food favorite is a toss up between our Grab and Go Burrito made in house with super great ingredients, or the Salmon Avocado Toast with sourdough bread and house made pickled onions and lemon dill sauce.”
Bennett shares that Basecamp Coffee Company will have a ‘winter menu’ starting in January.
“We are consistently looking for new permanent menu options. Right now we don’t have anything set in stone, but you’ll definitely find some new stuff over the next few months,” Bennett adds.
