Bentonville is “growing greener” this Friday.
Downtown Bentonville Inc. will be holding its April First Friday celebration, on April 5, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. The celebration, sponsored by Unilever, is themed “Growing Greener.”
During the event, Unilever will be activating an arts installation composed of plastic, and attendees will able to remove a bottle from the wall, which serves as a commitment to recycle more plastic. As each bottle is removed, an underlying mural will be revealed that demonstrates the importance of recycling.
Of course, there’s some great fun planned for kids as well! Kids will be given stickers that they color and add to their own mural.
First Friday will start with a bang – food trucks at 11 a.m. followed by a Cherishing Children Pinwheel Rally at 11:30 a.m.
The musical entertainment kicks off at 4 p.m., with Ashtyn Barbaree. Jamie Lou and the Hullabloo will take the stage at 5:15 p.m., and 1 oz. Jig will follow at 6:45 p.m.
Don’t miss out on the Speleo Cave, sponsored by Whiteline Waste, which will give kids ages four and up a chance to go exploring. The “cave” is built from recycled materials and housed in a dumpster. Should be fun!
First Friday is free and open to the public.
