There’s nothing better than tacos! Except a day that all about tacos!
Today is National Taco Day, and in honor of this momentous day, we are highlighting our favorite places to grab a taco (or two).
Tacos 4 Life
Nothing feels better than eating a taco and knowing you’re making the world a better place. At Tacos 4 Life, you can do just that! For every meal the restaurant makes, one meal is donated to children in need throughout the world. It’s a great mission and great food. Tacos 4 Life is extensive, so you’ll need to come back several times to get acquainted with it! The Mango Habanero taco is a highlight, though. There’s also a Korean BBQ steak taco that’s to die for! This Arkansas original has two locations in Conway, along with locations in Little Rock, Fayetteville, Benton, Jonesboro, Springdale, Searcy, Fort Smith and Rogers. They have also branched out to Texas and North Carolina.
Heights Taco and Tamale
Heights Taco and Tamale is justly famous for beating Texas in a battle of cheese dip versus queso. But that’s not all they’re winning at. Using fresh ingredients, Heights Taco and Tamale is making some of the most distinctive tacos around. The pickled fried chicken taco and the Southmex fried fish tacos are both standouts! They have yummy á la carte tacos if you can’t make up your mind.

Most tacos around Arkansas come from Tex-Mex restaurants, so it’s a pleasant surprise when you find a place that serves Mexi-Cali cuisine. Baja Grill has a wide selection of tacos available, from a baja chicken taco to a honey chipotle taco. The pork used in many of their tacos is slow-smoked and delectable. The Pig Sooie Taco is a must try at Baja Grill. It’s a pork taco with barbecue sauce, cheese, slaw and red onions. If you’re getting ready for the Razorback game, it’s the perfect lunch!

One Arkansas restaurant isn’t playing it safe when it comes to tacos. Taco Mama in Hot Springs is serving up some of the best tacos in the state and putting their stamp on them. Taco Mama offers unique spins on tacos like a smoke prime rib taco or Korean fried chicken tacos! If you’re feeling less adventurous, you can get a delicious fish taco or a puffy taco with your choice of filling. No matter what, you’re getting a great meal!

Los Arcos is a Jonesboro favorite that serves the real deal when it comes to authentic Mexican food and tacos. The back page of the menu is even in Spanish! Don’t let that worry you, though. Make sure to try out the taco al pastor. If pineapple isn’t your thing, there’s plenty of other traditional options like tacos de asada.
