2020 has been a rough year, making an impact far and wide.
Now, the coronavirus pandemic is even making a dent in the Christmas celebrations. One of Little Rock’s most iconic holiday events has been canceled due to COVID-19 concerns.
The Big Jingle Jubilee Holiday Parade has been canceled for 2020. The Little Rock Convention and Visitors Bureau (LRCVB), which sponsors the event, decided not to hold it “out of an abundance of caution.”
“We certainly had hoped we could continue the tradition of sponsoring the Big Jingle Jubilee Holiday Parade this year. But, after continuing to monitor the ever-evolving situation surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic and consulting with state and city leaders, we decided it was in the best interest of the citizens of our wonderful city and state to forgo this year’s parade,” LRCVB president and CEO Gretchen Hall said in a statement.
The parade had been set to roll through Little Rock on Saturday, Dec. 5.
