The Botanical Garden of the Ozarks is hosting its annual International Festival on Sept.18 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. The event is part of Welcoming America’s “Welcoming Week,” which takes place from Sept. 9 – Sept.18 in locations throughout the United States.

The International Festival celebrates difference, inclusion and all cultures. The event is free and open to the public. Visitors are encouraged to tote lawn chairs, blankets and other picnicking items. No pets, alcohol or firearms will be permitted.

Food trucks and vendors will offer international foods for guests to enjoy on the Great Lawn while dance performances and demonstrations unfold on stage. A variety of booths, featuring arts & crafts, displays and cultural items for sale, will be available throughout the garden grounds.

Experts will also be present to provide resources for immigrants, refugees and other marginalized communities.

“Welcoming Week” is a series of nationwide events connecting immigrants, refugees and native-born residents alike to raise awareness about the mutual benefits and importance of welcoming all people.

Welcoming America is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that aims to bolster inclusive communities nationwide. The Northwest Arkansas Council is a current member of the Welcoming Network – a conglomerate comprised of over 300 nonprofits and local governments.

Visitors are encouraged to RSVP for the festival online. More information about Welcoming America is available here
