Town Pump ‘Touchdown’ for Sports Bar Bucket List

Town Pump ‘Touchdown’ for Sports Bar Bucket List

Heather Baker, AY About You President and Publisher, continued the Sports Bar Bucket List at another Little Rock favorite, Town Pump.

“This week we are at Town Pump, and we cannot do the [Sports Bar Bucket List] without stopping here,” Baker said.  “It’s the dive bar, fun bar, sports bar of all bars.”

Baker sat down to table full of bar food classics, and immediately opted to start with the wings.

“I’m going to start with the wings because it’s a Wednesday,” Baker said, explaining that every Wednesday at Town Pump wings are only 75 cents. Baker’s wing platter included the “sweet,” “heat” and the “dirty bird.” “Those are so good, and yes, the ranch was spectacular,” Baker said.

Satisfied with the wings, Baker moved on to the catfish. “When you pick up catfish and it breaks, that’s how you know it’s some good catfish,” Baker said. “Breading is everything to me, and their breading is good. It comes with tartar sauce and it is scrumptious.”

Next up on the menu is the infamous Town Pump club sandwich. “If you didn’t know, it actually won some Southern Living awards, one for Best Sandwich, because it is.”  The club sandwich is made-up of ham, bacon, lettuce, tomato and mayo – served on your bread of choice.

As Baker has said before, nachos are her sports bar go-to, and the nachos at Town Pump are a new experience for her. “I absolutely love their [Town Pump] cheese dip, I love the chicken, these nachos are so good,” Baker said.

Baker is also a big fan of the pump sauce, which comes on the pump burger. “The pump sauce is so good and on-fire,” Baker said.

Town Pump also has a large variety of cocktails and brews on tap. “You can come here to get any drink you want, they have local drinks on tap and classics like a white Russian, mimosa or a bloody mary,” Baker explained.

With a lot of fun to offer Arkansans, Town Pump also hosts weekly karaoke and live music. “Karaoke is on Tuesdays and Fridays and Live Music is on Thursdays,” Baker said.

“Since [KARK’s] DJ isn’t here this week, I’m going to go ahead and wrap this up,” Baker said, taking one final bite of a giant pretzel.
