Cave City to Kick-Off Watermelon Festival This Week

Cave City Watermelon Festival will kick-off tomorrow, July 28, with a weekend full of non-stop events, including the Melon Dash 5K, which will take place this Saturday. 

The festival will include a Melon Contest, bouncy houses, wet zone, kids events, live music and more. With family-friendly fun for all ages, there is something for every person to enjoy at this year’s watermelon festival. 

This is what attendees can expect for the first day of the festival:

  • Prize Melon Contest – kicking off the weekend, submitted melons will be on display for judges to pick the Prize Melon for 2022.
    • Time: 5:00 p.m.
    • Place: the park
  • Live Music Lineup –  at The Bank of Cave City Main Stage
    • 6:00 p.m. – Luke Stroud
    • 7:00 p.m.- Farris Family Quartet
    • 8:00 p.m. – Legacy Five
  • Hog Wild Events – bouncy houses, wet zone and more
    • Time: 6:00 p.m. until dark
    • Place: the softball fields
    • Cost: $10.00 armbands required for entrance.
