Nationally acclaimed Central BBQ is on its way to the South Yard, a relatively new development by Specialized Real Estate Group at the old Farmer’s Coop site in Fayetteville, according to recent report from The Fayetteville Flyer.

Chief Operating Officer of Central BBQ Brian Wyatt told the Flyer: “We could not be more thrilled to partner with the great team at Specialized to add some smoke to South Yard and the Fayetteville BBQ experience.”

Central BBQ is often regarded as the epitome of Memphis-style BBQ and specializes in barbecue staples, including ribs, brisket, pulled pork and chicken, and of course, barbecue sandwiches topped with Central’s signature coleslaw.

If you aren’t in the Fayetteville area, you can still get a taste of the good life because Central will ship directly from restaurants across the country. Central BBQ opened its first location in 2002 and has since grown to have four locations in Memphis and two in Nashville. The restaurant chain has been featured on television shows, including but not limited to Pitmasters, The Best Thing I Ever Ate, and BBQ with Bobby Flay.

While Fayetteville will likely be the first location in Arkansas, it may not be the first out of state as there is a development in Southhaven, Mississippi, that is projected to finish construction before the Fayetteville location, which is currently projected to open in early 2023.
