The most celebrated outdoor light display in Arkansas for the holiday season opens at Garvan the Saturday before Thanksgiving and runs through New Year’s Eve (closed Thanksgiving and Christmas days). The Gardens will be aglow with over 4.5 million lights in a myriad of natural settings. Features include the luminescent Garden of the Pine Wind, the 50-foot tall Holiday Tree which plays holiday tunes animated to a light show, the Parterre garden on the Great Lawn, and traditional holiday scenes in the woodlands. Conclude your walking tour with free hot chocolate. The Chipmunk Café is open nightly until 9 p.m. serving soups, sandwiches, and snacks.
Holiday Lights is open when it rains; the Gardens closes in the case of inclement weather that would threaten the safety of visitors (lightning, ice, hail. high winds). Sorry, there are no refunds for closings.

DETAILS: The Lawrence Plaza Splash Pad is a 7,000 square foot facility. This innovative facility utilizes a dual-function design to operate an outdoor facility throughout the entire year. In the summer months, from May to September, the facility offers a splash pad to patrons as the fountains operate on the splash pad. In the winter months, from November to January, the chiller is turned on and the concrete pad is converted into the region’s only permanent outdoor ice rink. Bring your family out to Lawrence Plaza to enjoy the park and a great time. Bentonville Parks and Recreation hosts several events and programs at this facility throughout the year.

At the facility we offer sno cones in the summer months and hot chocolate in the winter months as a refreshment option while the family is enjoying their time in the park.

WHAT: Christmas In Camden – It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year. December is packed to overflowing with magical family fun. November 26th – Kickoff – Starting November 26 Camden is bringing the festivities every weekend until December 14 starting with a live performance by the Arkansas Arts Center of A Christmas Carol.

December 6th – Magical Lights – The wintery fun continues on December 6th with the lighting of the Courthouse and Flashlight Candy Cane Hunt. Saturday, December 7th features a delicious Gingerbread House Workshop for children in both the morning and afternoon.

December 13th – Christmas Ride – Get ready to ride on December 13th as the Holly Jolly Trolley rolls downtown. Enjoy the wonderful luminaries as you travel through the historic district. McCollum Chidester House will be decorated for Christmas and open for tours. From 6 – 8 p.m. you can take a Disney Cinderella Horse & Carriage Ride downtown. You can also see the Living Nativity in Farmers Bank parking lot. And don’t miss the Christmas Cookie Crawl. Join in the fun adventure throughout town to gather your homemade cookies and treats located on your map.

December 14th – Christmas Fun Overload! Saturday, December 14th, continue ringing in the season with a 5K Santa Run/Walk and Children’s Elf Fun Run, Christmas Pancake Breakfast, The lighting of the Nell jane Dawson Park, The Camden Christmas Parade, and wrapping up with an outdoor Christmas Movie Arthur Christmas. The magic is all happening in Camden, Arkansas, this Christmas. Don’t miss it!

November 26th – Kickoff

We will be serving our wines for tasting as well as partnering with Vino Distribution who is bringing their in wine portfolio to sample. We will be selling our wine and beer by the glass. We want to provide the public an opportunity to purchase local and global wines. We also want to offer Arkansas made products for Christmas gifts at a one stop shop location. Several vendors will have tables set up to allow people to sip and shop for the day. It is being held from 12pm-9pm in our beautiful indoor Sunroom. We want to help promote local businesses and cultivate strong relationships within the community.

6 p.m. pre-party at Chelsea’s.  Selfie Scavenger Crawl begins from there at 7 pm. Download the ActionBound app from your app store. You will be using the app to scan the Night of 1000 Santas Signs at each designated location Search the App for “Thousand Santas”

Two Gingerbread House Workshops, will be hosted by Catherine’s Bistro, 1023 W. Washington Street. The workshops will be  from 10:00 – 11:30 for children 5 to 8 years of age and 2:30 – 4:00 for children 9 to 14 years of age.

Each child will be able to complete a fresh gingerbread house complete with chimney and gingerbread people. They will have their own special box to take them home. Once the holiday is complete they are completely edible. Each session will last approximately one and a half hours and will be limited to 30 participants. The cost of the workshop is $50.00
