Coolwag, the locally owned doggy daycare and boarding hotel in Bentonville, is hosting a dog diving event with the North America Diving Dogs (NADD) on June 18 through June 20. The event, called June Jump, will include dogs participating in events such as the Air Retrieve, the Hydro Dash, and the Distance Jump. Each dog is encouraged to run the length of the dock and jump as far as they can and land in the water, with the judges measuring either the height or distance of the jump.
The competition days and times are as follows:
Friday, June 18th: 11:00am to 3:00pm
Saturday, June 19th: 9:00am to 3:00pm
Sunday, June 20th: 10:30am to 3:00pm
Onsite registration is available. Additionally, Coolwag will allow “try its” for dogs who want to take their first dive!
Dogs participating in the June Jump can also attend the Coolwag Regional Qualifier event on August 20th through the 22nd, and will have the opportunity to qualify for the national competition hosted in Springfield, Missouri later this year.
Eric and Heather Wegner opened Coolwag’s doors in 2015. Their objective is to allow dogs to be in a sociable open play environment separated by size, age, and temperament during their time away from home. Each doggy group is supervised by a human who is trained on dog behavior, body language, and vocalization. Boarding is also available for cats and other furry pets. Coolwag’s five-acre property has multiple dog yards, pools, and sports fields. Visit Coolwag.com for more information on daycare, boarding, training, sports, and other K-9 related programs.
