State officials will be announcing when bars will be allowed to reopen and when summer camps and team sports will be allowed to operate next week.
Gov. Asa Hutchinson announced that he has intends to announce several “decision points” on bars and summer camps next week. The bar decision is scheduled for May 18, and the summer camp decision will be announced on May 20.
“The bars that we have that are still closed in Arkansas and have been closed for some time – we want to look at those as to May 18, making a decision as to what date in the future they can open or under what restrictions and whether they can be lifted,” he said. “We just wanted to give the owners of those establishments an understanding as to where they can see a decision point for the future.”
Hutchinson also stated that a decision point on summer camps and team sports will be announced. This has been a frequently asked question during Hutchinson’s daily press conferences in recent weeks.
“Two dates next week, – May 18 and May 20,” Hutchinson said.
