With record flooding in Arkansas, individuals and organizations are pitching in to help those affected. Groups are setting up to help in disaster relief efforts, but they are requesting help.
The Arkansas Baptist Disaster Relief Team is offering a one-day training session to prepare volunteers for disaster relief. The “Disaster Relief Emergency Flood Recovery Training” is designed to equip individuals with the tools to help in emergency situations and engage in the Southern Baptist Convention’s ministry.
Completing the training will enable individuals to become credentialed Disaster Relief volunteers.
The training will be held on Saturday, June 1, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Central Baptist Church in Conway, located at 333 Dave Ward Drive.
The cost for new volunteers is $30, which covers training materials, a background check, an ID and lanyard, lunch and a cap. Returning volunteers will need to pay $20 to renew their ID and cover costs.
Register for the training here.
