Dolly Parton is coming to Arkansas to celebrate the success of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in the state on Thursday, May 5.
Dolly Parton will visit the Governor’s Mansion in Little Rock, and in an effort to make the event statewide, Arkansas PBS will be live-streaming a portion of this program starting at 6:35 p.m.
In addition to Arkansas PBS, Gov. Asa Hutchinson, the Arkansas Department of Education, community members representing Imagination Library affiliates across the state, statewide leaders and supporters and others will welcome Parton to the Natural State.
Arkansas PBS will serve as a media partner for this event, offering exclusive live-stream content of a brief musical performance by Parton and a live interview with THV11’s Craig O’Neill.
The Imagination Library in Arkansas serves the purpose of helping brain development in children through literature, helping children to build connections. Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library has allowed every child in Arkansas from birth to 5 years old to receive a book a month. The Imagination Library in Arkansas has set its goal on making sure every kindergartner can begin school with 60 books in their home.
