For mother-daughter duo Courtney Hawkins and Donita Rinearson, Down South is a dream come true — and not the geographical location. The pair own and operate Down South Furniture, a home goods store in El Paso.
“There’s no place like home, and we truly believe home is the most important place on Earth,” says Hawkins and Rinearson. “It’s your sanctuary, canvas, story … A home reflects the personalities and tells the stories of the people who live there.”
Courtney and Donita along with her husband Randy Rinearson owned and operated Trailer Country of Cabot for 10 years before selling it in 2018. This business move allowed them to embark on a years-long dream, and Down South Furniture was born. The 8,000 square feet shop includes a showroom full of unique, southern-inspired furnishings, decor and gifts. Among the offerings are one-of-a-kind farmhouse tables, custom barn doors, luxurious mesquite dining tables, iron chandeliers and furniture for a living room or bedroom.
“We have created our niche for rustic, shabby, farmhouse chic, and added a little southwestern flair,” says Hawkins and Rinearson.
They can’t wait to see y’all Down South.
