The face of Interior Design
Barbara Fryxell, Owner
After three years of travelling the country in the family motor coach with her husband, Buddy, Barbara Fryxell came back to Little Rock with a desire to find something to do with her time. She had previous experience in real estate, women’s apparel design, breeding and showing Arabian horses, and training polo ponies, but went in a new direction when a friend suggested she get a booth at the David Claiborne Designer Mall and sell furniture and home decorations. She took the advice and started B&B Designs in 2000 as a hobby. When she became infatuated with her new career path, she changed the name to Obsessions Interiors.
“Obsessions Interiors is the Smithsonian of the useful and beautiful in Little Rock home design,” Fryxell said. “We offer a variety of high-quality, reasonably priced merchandise for the home, including furniture, artwork, lighting, tabletop items, textiles and decorative accessories from around the world.”
With more than 6,000 square feet of thousands of items, she says the store has a vast array of items from elegant furniture fitting of a formal living room to more casual items for dens and great rooms. If a customer has ideas for the look they want, but is unsure of how to get there, Obsessions offers interior design services and free in-home consultations that can help with furnishing a single room or an entire home.
With the holidays approaching, Fryxell said, Obsessions can also help with in-Christmas decorating. Their designers conduct free consultations and provide estimates for the holiday décor that matches customers’ visions and desires.
“Be your taste casual or elegant, whimsical or serious, cutting edge or traditional,” she said, “Obsessions Interiors is here to satisfy your wants, needs, and dreams of furnishing your home, office, or favorite get away.”
