Light Innovations is a local family-owned lighting and decorative hardware store which was founded in 1988. Charlene Prousnitzer and her husband, Chuck, saw a lack of quality lighting options in Central Arkansas and decided to change that.
Though the Light Innovations sales team is made up of only seven, the team has a collective 155 years of experience. With their expertise, the store is always reaching new heights, including being featured in this year’s Furniture & Lighting Décor as one of the top 15 showrooms in the nation.
However, to these folks, it’s not about just serving the top buyers. As Charlene says, “Style is not a display of wealth but an expression of imagination.” The sales team in the showroom works with all lighting budgets and love seeing the expressions when buyers get the first view of their home’s new lighting.
Charlene’s dedication to service and hard work started with her grandparents, who came to America when they were each younger than 10 years old. She grew to admire their work ethic and commitment to providing for their families. Her tenacity is what helped her son, Benjamin, who has autism, become a successful young man with a big support system.
Her determination is also what has been helping the small business navigate the pandemic. While the owners are quickly adapting where they need to, it turns out that staying home might be good for business.
“This time at home has actually allowed people to see the difference that the right lighting can make in their homes,” Charlene says.
