Chris McMillan & Erica Summers | Culinary & Operations Directors
Yellow Rocket Concepts (YRC) is the parent company to several of Arkansas’ favorite eateries, including Big Orange, Local Lime, ZAZA, Heights Taco & Tamale Co. and Lost Forty Brewing. The company is proud to be an “Arkansas-owned, Arkansas-operated and Arkansas-inspired restaurant group,” says Erica Summers, the director of operations for Yellow Rocket Concepts.
“We are proud to be a part of Arkansas and the wonderful community of people in it,” Summers says. “We are homegrown and are committed to making our state’s food community shine.”
Yellow Rocket Concepts got its start in 2008 when Scott McGhee and John Beachboard opened ZAZA Fine Salad & Wood Oven Pizza Co. Over the years, they’ve added other partners and restaurants, and now the restaurant group employs a diverse team of over 650 crew members in all aspects of restaurant management. The company proudly prioritizes a positive work environment and promoting from within to reward hard-working employees.
“The first time I was a guest at ZAZA in Conway, it had just opened,” Summers says. “I watched the whole team working together seamlessly to create beautiful food. The way everyone operated and the entire experience was so professional and polished. Everything just flowed. I knew I had to be a part of it.”
“I’ve been working and cooking alonside Scott McGehee and John Beachboard for two decades,” says Chris McMillan, director of culinary operations for YRC. “I now oversee the kitchen and culinary operations for all nine Yellow Rocket locations and am very inspired by the talent we have in our group. Our philosohpy of treating food, work family, community, and guests with respect makes me proud to be a part of our crew.”
