After a hiatus due to the pandemic, the Friends of CALS Used Books Sales are back. The Central Arkansas Library System (CALS) just announced dates for the events, which have been set for March 10-12, with July 7-9 and Nov. 17-19 tentatively scheduled.
On March 11, the used books sales will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on March 12 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The sale will take place in the basement of the CALS Main Library on 100 Rock Street in Little Rock.
Friends of CALS members can shop on March 10 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friends members can also receive 50 percent off gently read books at the Galleries & Bookstore at Library Square on March 10 during regular business hours.
The majority of books at the sale are priced at $1 for paperbacks and $2 for hardbacks. Book totes are available for purchase as well. The funds from the Friends of CALS fund will support the Six Bridges Book Festival, book club kits, Arkansas Sounds concerts, branch programs, the Summer Reading Club, youth programs and other library activities.
