Summer is almost over. August is about to begin. The kids are about to go back to school, but there is still time to wrap up the summer with some fun events that are happening in Little Rock.
Little Rock Farmers’ Market
The Little Rock Farmers’ Market has the freshest produce as well as an abundant array of handmade crafts. This event happens every Saturday from 7:00 A.M. – 3:00 P.M. in the River Market, which has two outdoor pavilions overlooking Riverfront Park and the Arkansas River.
60th Annual Delta Exhibition at Arkansas Arts Center
The Arkansas Arts Center will be showcasing artists living and working in Arkansas and its border states. The Delta Exhibition will be filled with contemporary artwork, from 46 handpicked artists, that represents the American South and reflects the region’s strong traditions of craftsmanship and observation. The exhibit will be open until August 26.
The Roots of American Music Concert
Who doesn’t like concerts? The Roots of American Music Concert will have an all-star acoustic band, including Danny Dozier, Tim Crouch, Irl Hess, Ken Loggains and Gary Gazaway. They will be performing songs from a variety of artists including the Beatles, and playing different genres, from country, blues, pop, and swing. The concert will be August 10 and tickets are $10.
4th Annual Lip Sync Battle Benefitting Make-A-Wish
Saturday, August 11, the 4 annual Lip Sync Battle benefiting Make-A-Wish is happening at the Robinson Center Music hall. Come out and see your local radio, sports, politicians and TV personalities compete in a Lip Sync Battle to raise awareness and money for Make-A-Wish. Tickets for the event are $30 plus taxes and fees.
Josh Ritter at South on Main
Singer, songwriter, Josh Ritter, who performs with The Royal City Band, is performing at South on Main, August 23. Doors open at 7:00 P.M.

Jazz in the Park
Jazz in the Park is returning to the River Market in September. Every Wednesday night, a free local jazz concert series will take place. Listen to the smooth sounds in Riverfront Park History Pavillion along the Arkansas River Bank.
