It’s time for one last pizza party with the AY About You magazine and KARK crew! During October, we have been touring the best pizza spots in Central Arkansas, highlighting some of the most popular and the hidden gems on the pizza scene.
This week, AY Publisher Heather Baker and KARK host Carmen Rose are closing out the Pizza Bucket List at Pizza Café West.
“I am ready to go out with a bang. I’ve never been here before but I’m ready to try out all the pizza,” Rose says.
“This is how I get home every day, so I’m always popping in here. We’re going to go in and see what’s on the menu,” Baker says.
Inside, owner Frankie Harrison has the kitchen running at full steam, preparing a wide array of pizzas and other Pizza Café specialties for Baker’s and Rose’s visit. Some of the pizzas they have on the menu for the duo include the Deluxe, the Mediterranean, the Chicken Alfredo, the Hawaiian, and more.
Harrison is also whipping up a Pizza Café favorite for Baker and Rose: the chicken artichoke pizza. “The chicken artichoke, which is one of our best sellers. It has our grilled chicken, artichoke hearts, garlic and cheddar cheese,” Harrison says.
Once seated, Baker and Rose get right down to business. Baker goes for the chicken artichoke first while Rose tries out the Mediterranean. This pizza features an olive oil base with mozzarella, feta cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, artichoke hearts, spinach and black olives.
But Rose isn’t sticking just with the Mediterranean pizza. She’s sampling a little bit of everything, and the next pizza on her plate is one of the big ones. “I have my eye on the Deluxe. It literally has everything on it,” Rose says.
The Deluxe pizza features mozzarella cheese, beef, sausage, pepperoni, onion bell pepper, mushrooms and black olives.
One of Baker’s favorite parts of Pizza Café is the customization options available. She’s a huge black olives fan, and she adds them to her Hawaiian pizzas when she comes. “I love coming here. I obviously come here all the time coming home,” Baker says.
Rose echoes the ease of access that Pizza Café provides for those in west Little Rock. “I love how convenient this is – right off Highway 10 in west Little Rock,” Rose says.
With that, Baker and Rose conclude the Pizza Bucket List, but it’s not over for these culinary fans. Tune in next month to see what bucket list they dive into next!
