Did you know that fly-fishing is the fastest-growing sport among females? Neither did we until this morning when we watched The Vine!
AY Publisher Heather Baker dropped by The Vine to talk about the fun fishing trip she took last weekend. With a group of girlfriends and guides from Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, she learned how to fly-fish and was casting out in no time!

While the weather was set to be chilly, the temperature was perfect for a day out on the Little Red River. “The weather was incredible,” Baker says.

The guides showed Heather and her companions how to cast their rods before stepping on the boats, and they practiced the cast and pull. Once they set out on the river, they took to fishing immediately. “We got on the boats, we went out. He [the guide] cast out with me, and within one second, we got a bite,” she says.

By the end of the trip, Heather hooked six rainbow trout. When asked if she let the fish go, she says, “Of course, I did!”

The fishing experience was a great one for Heather and her friends, and she is looking forward to a repeat trip. “It was a high. I want to do it again! It was a fun experience,” she says.
