For the next stop on the Fried Chicken Bucket List tour, Heather Baker and Hilary Hunt scoot their boots to the River Market in Little Rock to check out Stickyz Rock ‘N’ Roll Chicken Shack. The fine folks at the historic eatery hooked the two foodies up with a big “clucking” spread of food. And they had more than a few surprises up their sleeves.
“They have every flavor finger you can imagine, and every sauce,” Hunt exclaims.
“Did you say sauce?” Baker responds, kissing her fingers and pointing them to the heavens — the very reaction every viewer at home was also doing.
With the seasonal popularity of all things pumpkin, Stickyz whipped up a special pumpkin-flavored fried chicken dish for the occasion, served alongside a special cranberry VooDoo sauce. That’s where Hunt devoted her first bites.
Baker kicks her palette off with the jalapeno ginger chicken strips with the dill sauce and homemade ranch.
After the Sticky Fingerz, the gals chow down into another little twist: Chicken Fried Chicken Fries.
Mouths still aflame from the spicy sauces, the girls then round things out with another house specialty at Stickyz — the Cluck Puppies. What you imagine is exactly what it is, only better: biscuit-breaded chicken hush puppies with “woo my lawd” sauce.
