Learn to tweak your buttercream icing to create the smooth texture of oils at Art is in Cakes Bakery and Supply’s Palette Knife Painting on Cakes class. The hands-on cake decorating class will be held at Art Is In Cakes from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. All attendees must have confirmed and paid registrations when showing up to the class, and tickets are $65 per person.

Swing by Dairy Queen in Little Rock to cool off with your favorite Blizzard, because a portion of all sales Aug. 2 will be donated to Arkansas Children’s Hospital Miracle Foundation.

You don’t want to miss Annie! at the Pocket Community Theatre in Hot Springs this weekend. On Aug. 3, 4, 10 and 11, the show will begin at 7:30 p.m. On Aug. 5 and 12, the show starts at 2:30 p.m. Adult tickets are $20, and children 12 and under get in for $5.

Saturday, 8/4 
Head to The Rev Room for The 5th (Almost) Annual Vanapalooza from 6:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. It’ll be a night of music and mingling with The Van’s team. The Van is a local nonprofit organization that is making a difference in the lives of homeless people in the Little Rock area. The event is 18+ and costs $10 to attend.
It’s almost time for the kids to head back to school, so get out and have some last-minute fun at the Kids Back to School Fair and Expo at the Maumelle Event Center from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be activities for the entire family, face painting, vendors, health screenings, games, free school supplies and more!
Honey Pies Gourmet Bakery & Café is celebrating their 2nd birthday, and they’ll be giving out free slices of cake at the shop from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. You can choose between triple chocolate or confetti celebration cake, and we both know you want to indulge. There will also be a newsletter sign-up contest, activities for children and more!
Sip complimentary beer and shop at the Tax Free-kend Weekend Pop-Up at The Moxy Warehouse on Saturday and Sunday. Several vendors will be present, including Bang-Up Betty, AR-T’s, Crying Weasel Vintage, Krystal Bijoux Jewelry and more. Philly Phresh Water Ice and Viva Vegan will be vending as well. Hours are 6 p.m.-10 p.m. on Saturday, and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Sunday.

Loblolly Creamery and Camp Aldersgate have partnered up to raise money for children and youth with special needs. Swing by Loblolly between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m., enjoy your favorite flavor, and 10% of all sales will go to Camp Aldersgate.
Face painting, laser tag, food trucks and balloon art? You can find it all and more at the 2018 Summer Block Party at Murray Lock and Dam from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. There will also be a school supply give away and mobile video game station.
