Arkansas does many things right, but burgers might be the most “well-done.” The only thing better than our burgers is our people, and David’s Burgers has the best of both worlds. Whenever I walk into a David’s Burgers restaurant, I am confident that my experience will be impeccable.
For anyone that hasn’t had the pleasure of dining at David’s Burgers, this family-owned business has a long history of providing customers with fresh, tasty meals and fantastic customer service. David Alan Bubbus started David’s Burgers in honor of his father, David Bubbus Sr. A master butcher by age 16, David Bubbus Sr. was an influential man in the restaurant business during his time. He managed his first restaurant at the age of 19 in 1963 and opened his own restaurant a few years later in 1967. David Bubbus Sr. helped in developing many restaurants, restaurant chains and franchises all over Arkansas and he accepted only the best quality meals for his customers. David’s Burgers continues that legacy today through every meal and every smile on customers’ faces.

“The black and white pictures you see on the walls are our family pictures. They’re our way of welcoming you into our home and we hope they will take you back to a time when things were simple and straightforward, which is what we’re all about,” the David’s Burgers website says.
When you first enter a David’s Burgers restaurant, a butcher case is there to greet you. US Choice Chuck is displayed in the butcher case to show customers that what they’re being served is fresh. David’s Burgers advertises that they never use trimmings, fillers or other “inferior beef by-products.”
This is the perfect place to bring your family, a group of friends or maybe a chill date night. The staff always, always greets you with a smile and those smiles keep coming like the fries. That’s right, the fries are bottomless. Servers walk around with a big bowl and serve you while you’re waiting on your meal. When that meal does come, it’s like a fast pass to heaven. The burgers are so juicy and flavorful. Even the chicken sandwiches are off-the-charts. Don’t forget to order ice cream before you leave!
Soon, the Bubbus family will be adding a new restaurant to their mix. Jess’s Chicken, located on North Rodney Parham Road, will open in late August. Like David’s Burgers, Jess’s Chicken will be serving only the freshest chicken and produce. This family definitely has a knack for serving the state quality food.

While the food is good, the Bubbus family is better. David Bubbus Sr. instilled some amazing qualities in his son, and I am so thankful for the work they do not only in the restaurant industry but in the community as well. The Bubbuses are compassionate, giving and some of the nicest people you will ever meet. Drop whatever you’re doing right now and read this story AY did on David Alan Bubbus Jr. and then go eat at one of his amazing restaurants.
