Arkansas is not forgiving when it comes to the summer heat and humidity. I sweat walking to my car, I sweat watering my plants, and I even sweat just thinking about going outside. When something goes wrong with a home’s air conditioner, it feels like the world might just end. This happened to me recently, but once I made a phone call to Middleton Heat & Air, everything was back on track.
Larry Middleton sent the Heat & Air team over to my house, and they were quick to drive out to my house and get started. Before they did anything, they analyzed the whole set-up and ensured they knew exactly what the problem was and the source that needed to be addressed. They took special care in making sure they were fixing the problem for the long-haul — not just a quick fix that I would have to call them about again a few weeks later.
I was absolutely blown away by the professionalism and care the Middleton team put into the job. They made sure their feet were covered when they came into my home so dirt wouldn’t be tracked, and if you know me you know that I am a stickler for cleanliness. Once they had packed up and left, it seemed as though no one had even been to my house — save for the now perfectly working air conditioner that I’m extra thankful for looking at the forecast this weekend.
The story and work-mission of Middleton is just as “cool” as the air conditioners they maintain. “We have been a proud family-owned Arkansas business for over 40 years! Everything got started in the garage of Chuck Middleton himself, and the rest was history. Our overarching goals are to provide quality, dependable, local service you can trust. We want our customers to know that we are here for them, and we will get the job done right,” Middleton says. I can confidently say that they more than deliver on this promise. I was thoroughly pleased with their work given the extra caution and care they took in fixing not only the problem I called them about, but also problems I didn’t even know I had.
This expertise is a product of the Middleton training their workers undergo. “We require extensive ongoing training for our team members so that we are always learning how to do things better and how to work with the latest equipment & industry knowledge. Education and staying on the cutting edge are so important to us, we established The Middleton Academy to give our team a real-world space to practice on equipment and learn from each other. The Middleton Academy is one of our favorite things!” Middleton says.
The Middleton website includes a few energy-saving tips for the public to practice similar to what their workers learn:
- Set the thermostat five to ten degrees higher
- Close the blinds and curtain on hot days
- Keep appliances away from the thermostat
- Use ceiling fans while you’re in a room
- Set the thermostat as high as you comfortably can
- Avoid using heat-producing appliances (the oven) during the hottest hours of the day
“We do it all, from internal ductwork fabrication and the development of Arkansas’ largest HVAC parts inventory, to affordable routine home maintenance plans, to full residential system replacements, to large scale commercial construction. Our HVAC Home maintenance plans make regular system checks convenient and affordable,” Middleton says. “We are big believers in maintenance to extend the longevity of your system, preemptively discover minor wears and tears before they become big, expensive problems, and keep your family completely comfortable all year round. (Which in the unpredictable Arkansas weather, is a must!)” One of the biggest benefits of their maintenance plans and routine check-ups twice a year for me is the peace of mind. These check-ups are completely thorough and are ultimately for the benefit of you and your family’s safety. The air we breathe is something we don’t often think about, but if the pandemic has taught us anything it’s that we definitely should be more mindful about the condition of our air. By having your system checked and updated, you’re protecting your family’s health.
“Something else we do that is a little unique is offer “8 to 8, regular rate” service every single day. This basically means that if you need us from 8 am to 8 pm, even on a Saturday, we will be there for you at our regular service rate, no overtime or weekend fees involved!” Middleton shares. Busy people (me included), listen up! This service isn’t something that you find just anywhere. After-work-hour maintenance, plus weekends, is amazing to have as an option when you’re never home during the day. Also, and this is important, no more sweltering summer nights because the A/C blew out late in the afternoon – Middleton is just a call away!
The summer heat can stay outside where it belongs, and I’m pretty sure you all agree with me on that one. My house is as cool and crisp as a cucumber, and boy does that feel nice.
“Our family business has grown from working out of one room to an established Heating and Air Conditioning company that we can be proud of. Servicing Central Arkansas for over 40 years, we now have over 300 employees and we’re ready to keep providing the best quality service,” Middleton says.
