We have well-established that cars are kind of my thing, and with that being said, I like to ride in style. Not that my cars, my babies, aren’t already beautiful as they are, but just like I deserve to treat myself, they also deserve the finer things in life. I enjoy getting cosmetic modifications for my cars to stand out, and my latest project is definitely one of my favorites.
SunStop Window Tinting in North Little Rock hooked me up with an amazing black-out effect on the lights of my pride and joy BMW M6, otherwise known as the Black Knight. Hands-down the best application I have ever seen, and it’s all thanks to the folks at SunStop.
Brandon Thornton and his business partner Justin Lamb opened SunStop Window Tinting in 2014 after discovering a need in the state of Arkansas. That need was a lack of quality window film applications. Other businesses in the state were promising tint effects that just weren’t to the standards they should have been, so SunStop was created to give customers looking for professional-grade tinting a top-tier application.
Tinted windows and blacked-out headlights are tricky to do right. If done incorrectly, your car can look aged and really bring down its value. I took a car to a different business for a black-out effect on my headlights, and needless to say, it wasn’t the best. We then took the car to SunStop and they removed the tint and reapplied the proper gloss — as it should have been done the first time.
“We focus on high-quality products for our customers,” Brandon says, and he really means it. After research and trial and error in their early days as a business all those years ago, SunStop found the perfect product brands to use: Hüper Optik and Autobahn. As we learned, it’s noticeable when a product isn’t top-notch, so I’m thankful that SunStop took the time to find the products that provide the best results.
While removing the previous tint on the other car, Brandon said that the application used was the wrong product entirely and was cheap. It’s so important to do your research before you take your car in for a job like this. If the shop you take your car to does a tinting or black-out job for a low cost, chances are it isn’t going to be the best quality.
On both cars I’ve taken to SunStop, I learned about how important the product used is. For example, black-out headlights need a gloss so that the light can still shine through. If the wrong product is applied, it could really mess up visibility on the road, and safety is always the most important thing to consider when it comes to cars. Window tinting is typically done for privacy, shade from the blazing Arkansas sun or simply aesthetics, but even then safety and regulations on the road are major considerations when applying tints.
“We do residential, commercial and automotive window tinting along with paint protection and ceramic surface coatings,” Brandon says. For any tinting need in your life, SunStop is definitely the way to go.
The SunStop website states that the business, “… uses top-of-the-line products with top-of-the-line service.” In both instances, getting my car blacked out and redoing the other car, the customer service was incredible. The professionalism, the skill, the consideration of customers’ schedules — it’s all there and it really brings the business to the next level. I can go on and on about how great customer service is hard to come by nowadays, but SunStop hasn’t lost it. In fact, they are a model for how customer and business relationships should be. I felt like a priority, not just another job, and when I picked up my car and saw stunning it was, I knew I would never take my cars anywhere else.
