Everyone knows how much I love a weekend trip to Hot Springs. I always find something new to do, and I of course want to hit up my favorite restaurant. For my latest trip to the steamy town this past weekend, I decided to stay at a hotel I had never been to before and knew nothing about: The Hamilton. I am thrilled that I found this hotel because I really felt like I had found hidden treasure on Lake Hamilton.
It’s a known fact that the best places to be are the ones unsuspecting from the outside. Going down the street, I might not have looked at the Hamilton, but you’ll definitely want to look at it for your next trip. My room was a studio apartment style with a king bed, kitchenette, desk and the cutest aesthetic. The hotel was recently renovated under new owners, and you can tell that they took their time in revamping and updating the hotel so guests are comfortable and living lakeside in style.
One of the owners, Michael, shared more information about this wonderful place to stay. He and his business partner were both living in Hot Springs on Lake Hamilton, and they were always astonished at the beauty of the lake. “I saw this property on the market and knew that we had to buy it,” Michael says. As fate would have it, the two were able to buy the property in December 2020 and spent three months renovating parts of the hotel. “We’ve done quite a bit, but we’re going to take a break from renovating and let the hotel be as it is for about a year,” he laughs.
Michael’s favorite features in the hotel are some of my favorite features as well – great minds think alike! My studio room was phenomenal, but there are so many different options for lodging. “We have townhouses on the lake and waterfront rooms with private patios. Lake Hamilton is the central focus, and we really try to highlight that,” Michael says. This hotel is the perfect place for enjoying everything the lake offers. There are covered boat slips, a swim dock, lakefront pavilion, fire pits and picnic tables.
“The Hamilton offers a different style of living to the rest of Hot Springs where guests can experience the town in a different way. It’s right outside the city and it has access to the natural beauty Hot Springs is known for,” Michael says, and I couldn’t agree more. I explored the grounds and I was simply blown away by how picturesque everything truly was. From the room to the scenery to the people, I had such a lovely stay. I can’t wait to go back and take a dip in Lake Hamilton!
