FIRST BIG BREAK:

Six years ago a friend referred her client to me wanting help with the design of her pediatric dentistry office. It prompted me to take a leap of faith to start my business. Then, about three years ago, I connected with a lady from a well-known neighborhood in North Little Rock, who hired me to do an extensive remodel on her home. I left that day and told myself I would never call a contractor again. I would become the contractor. I got my contractor’s license, said some prayers and started building and remodeling homes.

SURPRISING FACT:

At 16, I wanted to be in a pageant, never having done one before. My parents said, “No way – we aren’t paying for that…you don’t just wake up and want to do a pageant!” But I wrote random businesses in the phone book, in search of sponsors and, crazy enough, some of them wrote back! I ended up competing with my “talent” listed as singing. (We don’t talk much about the “talent” part.)

REMEMBER ME FOR:

My ambition and drive, generosity, gratitude and, most importantly, my passion for COLOR!

PROUDEST ACCOMPLISHMENT:

I have three kind, smart independent children and a loving husband who let me be true to myself.

ADVICE TO OTHERS:

There’s a quote by Buddha I like to start every day with: “The mind is everything. What you think, you become.” So set your mind on success and you’ll achieve it!
