ATTRACTION TO CAREER:

In my third year of medical school on my psychiatry rotation, I remember God telling me that psychiatry was what I was going to do for the rest of my life. For some reason I had other plans; I wanted to enter another area of medicine. But eventually, I listened and followed God’s plan. And I’m so glad I did. He has blessed me beyond measure. When God tells you to do something, do it and watch the blessings come. I am so grateful to be used by God and to help His people.

FAVORITE PART OF YOUR JOB:

I have the opportunity to enter the most sacred part of people’s lives. They trust me with their pains, sorrows and their joys. I get to listen and be present with them and for them. I get to walk them through the most crucial events of their lives and try to provide all of my patients a safe space to heal. I count it a blessing to be able to do that every day.

BEST PART OF YOUR DAY:

Waking up and going to bed with the love of my life, Codney Washington.

REMEMBER ME FOR:

How I made people feel about themselves. I would hope that I am remembered for helping people feel accepted and good about themselves.

FAVORITE HOBBIES:

I love to express myself through movement. I start my day with a good run or in the gym, lifting weights, thanks to my trainer, Curtis White. I also enjoy practicing and teaching yoga.
