Sissy Jones

Occupation: Founder, Sissy’s Log Cabin

San Antonio, Texas; moved to Arkansas at 10 years old

Known best for her namesake empire, Sissy Jones has become a legend in the Arkansas jewelry scene, which is fitting considering the state’s reputation as a haven for naturally occurring diamonds. And while her success may not technically be natural, it is far from artificial — her story is one embodied by hard work, determination and moxie.

PROUDEST ACCOMPLISHMENT:

When my family joined my business. Today, you will find my son, daughter-in-law, grandchildren and many other relatives taking part in what I started.

REMEMBER ME FOR:

While my career accomplishments are many, I hope I am remembered for spreading the good news of Jesus. I wish more people knew our Savior, who provides comfort and love with the power of prayer and forgiveness.

PERSON YOU ADMIRE MOST:

My late mother, Mary Robinson, was my role model and inspiration to everything I have accomplished. I admire and love her dearly. I think she would be proud of who I am today.

ADVICE TO OTHERS:

Put the customer first. Posted to the front of all five Sissy’s Log Cabin locations you will find: “Rule No. 1: The customer is always right. Rule No. 2: If the customer is wrong refer to rule No. 1.” This is our store motto and a set of rules I attribute much of my success to.

FAVORITE PART OF YOUR JOB:

The jewelry business is so unique and allows me to help people from all walks of life. Whether they’re buying an engagement ring, shopping my beloved estate pieces, or coming in to grab a birthday gift, being a small part of so many stories makes all of this worth it.
