For the fifth year in a row a mix of soft and soulful jazz will flow through the River Market each week in April. Sponsored by the Little Rock Convention and Visitors Bureau (LRCVB), partnering with Art Porter Music Education, Inc (APME), Jazz in the Park celebrates local musicians who have been in Little Rock’s jazz scene for years and those who are just getting started.
Jazz in the Park’s April 5 debut will also mark the third year partnering with APME, which offers scholarships to talented Arkansas music students who wish to further their education while promoting community service and volunteering.
Free and open to the public, this family-friendly event will feature a different band each Wednesday in April from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the History Pavilion.
April 05 – The Funkanites (New to Jazz in the Park)
April 12 – Ramona (New to Jazz in the Park)
April 19 – Tonya Leeks & Co.
April 26 – Sounds So Good
*In case of rain, the West Pavilion will be the alternate location for the event.
The event is completely free, but no coolers are allowed. Beer, wine, soft drinks and water will be available for sale, along with new Jazz in the Park koozies, with a portion of the proceeds going to benefit Art Porter Music Education, Inc.’s scholarship fund. Lawn chairs and blankets are welcome, and there is some seating in the natural stone amphitheater at the History Pavilion. This event is sponsored by the Little Rock Convention and Visitors Bureau and the River Market.
