A lawsuit filed Friday in the Pulaski County Circuit Court alleges that a Little Rock hotel ignored human traficking victims and provided access to traffickers.
The lawsuit, filed on behalf of an unnamed plaintiff by law firm Rainwater, Holt & Sexton, is reportedly the first Arkansas case to bring a civil liability suit over human trafficking.
Shri Jinasha LLC and Seven Star Hotels Group Inc., the former owners of the Quality Inn and Suites, located at 6100 Mitchell Drive in Little Rock, have been named as the defendants.
According to reporting by the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, two Rainwater, Holt & Sexton attorneys have interviewed multiple individuals who have survived human trafficking. The case’s plaintiff, Jane Doe, alleges that she was kept captive from May-June 2014 and ‘raped by 10 to 12 people a day on the fourth floor of the building.”
The lawsuit alleges that the hotel’s management neglected the victims by failing inspect rooms, employ security measures and by never reporting signs of endangerment or trafficking.
