Concept drawing for “Synergy” by Kathleen Caricof
The City of Little Rock has named Kathleen Caricof the 2020 Sculpture at the River Market Public Monument commission recipient.
The $60,000 grant will go towards Caricof’s brushed metal sculpture titled Synergy.
Synergy, as proposed by Caricof, is inspired by the energy within the West Central Community Center’s walls.
“The inspiration for this sculpture is to express the motion of the activities which take place in the Center and the connection it makes among community members,” Caricof said in a proposal. “…this tall metal sculpture shows the excitement of the expression of motion.”
Caricof, a National Sculptors Guild member, is the 10th recipient of the River Market Public Monument grant.
The 20-feet tall sculpture will be installed at the West Central Community Center entrance on 8616 Colonel Glenn Road and John Barrow Road in the spring of 2021.
