When most people think of Mardi Gras, they immediately think “New Orleans.” This year, though, Arkansas is doing its best to give the Crescent City a run for its money. A number of Mardi Gras events will be taking place all around the state this weekend to commemorate Fat Tuesday.
One of the most exciting Mardi Gras events will be happening right here in Little Rock. Join the Little Rock Zoo for the first ever “Mardi Craw” crawfish boil! This Sunday, the zoo will be hosting this fun event that features sustainably harvested crawfish and catfish.
Hailing from Ville Platte, La., Crawfish Country Catering is bringing some delicious mudbugs for you to feast on. You don’t want to miss them!
Naturally, you can’t serve just crawdads at a crawfish boil. There will be generous amounts of catfish, corn on the cob and potatoes to go around. Because it’s Mardi Gras, there will be a king cake. Do you think you’ll get the piece with the baby? Find out on Sunday!
Eating all these crawdads can make you work up a serious thirst. If you’re 21 or over, you can kick back with a fresh craft brew or wine.
Food isn’t the only attraction at Mardi Craw. There will be live entertainment from the Cresecent City Combo, as well as some appearances from some special animal friends. This Mardi Gras party is sure to capture the spirit of New Orleans’ finest party traditions.
General admission for those 21-years-old and above is $35. This entitles the ticket holder to all the craft beer, wine and crawdads that they can handle. Get your tickets here.
Admission for those ages two to 20 is $25.
Mardi Craw will be held Sunday, March 3, from 12 to 3 p.m.
